# CarryMaps

> Free, source-cited reference for U.S. concealed carry laws: permit requirements,
> reciprocity, vehicle carry, open carry and prohibited locations for all 50 states
> and the District of Columbia. Every state page cites the official statute and the
> issuing agency, and carries a "last verified" date.

CarryMaps exists because most concealed-carry reference content online is stale,
uncited, or both — and being wrong about carry law can mean a felony. Pages state
what was verified, when, and against what source. Where the law is genuinely
unsettled (active litigation, a court ruling that changed practice without changing
the statute), pages say so explicitly rather than giving a false clean answer.
