CarryMaps — Know Before You Carry

About CarryMaps

A free, accurate reference for U.S. concealed carry laws — built for the people who need it most.

This page was last reviewed August 2025.

Our mission

CarryMaps was built to be the simplest, most accurate place in America to understand concealed carry laws. Not the most opinionated. Not the most political. Just the clearest, most reliable reference — one that a first-time permit applicant and a seasoned carrier can both trust.

Concealed carry laws are complex, state-by-state, and change regularly. There are millions of law-abiding gun owners who carry legally — or want to — and need fast, accurate answers to questions like: "Can I carry in Florida with my Georgia permit?" or "Does Texas require a permit?" We built this site to answer those questions clearly, with citations to the actual statutes.

What we are

What we are not

How we source data

Every piece of information on CarryMaps must be traceable to an official government source. We do not use third-party aggregators, Wikipedia, or news articles as primary sources. Our hierarchy of sources:

Each state data entry includes a statute citation, a link to the official source, and a "last verified" date. States marked with an "unverified" flag have data that is pending confirmation against the current official statute — treat those entries as preliminary.

Reporting errors

Laws change. If you notice outdated or incorrect information on CarryMaps, we want to know. Please use the contact information below to report any errors, with a reference to the current official source if available. We will review and update promptly.
